Ferry Building of San Francisco

Ferry Building

The San Francisco Ferry Building is a landmark along the Embarcadero.  There is a Marketplace on the ground level and office spaces on upper levels. Above the building is a 245-foot tall clock tower with four clock dials of 22-foot diameter. It is the largest wind-up, mechanical dial clock in the world, although the hands are now powered by electric motors. There is a also heritage street car station located on the pedestrian plaza in front of the building.

Google plus Photography in San Francisco

Bay Bridge, San Francisco

The Google+ Photographer’s Conference was held in San Francisco last week. The event brought together Social Media and Photography for the first time; and was very well received. Unlike conventional conference, the sessions were broadcast LIVE over the internet. New video conferencing technology, known as Google Hangout, was used to allow attendees to participate in panel discussions from remote locations all over the world. Questions were streamed from the audience to the panelists in real time via mobile phones, computers and tablet devices. Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, showed up unannounced to demonstrate the Google Glass prototypes. There were also several photowalks led by well-known photographers like Trey Ratcliff and Scott Kelby. In the end, it appeared that every attendee gave the conference a Google +1!
